Meghan Burns
Associate, Attorney at LawBiography
The practice of Family Law is something that has long held great personal significance for Meghan Burns. As an adopted child herself, with four of five siblings who were also adopted, she’s seen firsthand the joys – and frustrations – faced by children and families as they’ve navigated sensitive matters such as divorce and child custody.
Meghan uses this deeply personal experience to better serve her clients and to fight and advocate on their behalf. Her diverse background and experience brings a different perspective to the table, allowing her to anticipate her clients’ needs, and beyond that, to offer them a sense of comfort as they move through the legal process. Those she’s worked with have appreciated not only her insight, but her compassion as well.
With previous experience at a criminal defense firm, Meghan is trained in collaborative law and maintains a broad practice in many Family Law-related areas. This includes matters involving high-profile and high-net-worth individuals. She’s previously represented professional athletes in matters related to mediation, litigation, and informal settlement agreements, to name only a few. Whatever her clients need, Meghan is ready to hit the ground running.
Before becoming an attorney, Meghan worked in finance, overseeing a team of eight involved in mortgage servicing. This experience also informs her current practice, as she’s able to offer her clients advice on financial matters that often aren’t anticipated or can sometimes be overlooked, giving them the guidance they need during and after their divorce.
Meghan is a crossfit athlete and certified yoga instructor. An avid reader, she also enjoys spending time working through books in an ever-growing to-be-read stack.
